Abstract

The article is devoted to consideration of the concept of good governance and compliance with its criteria for local self-government authorities in the administrative service provision. It is noted that processes of democratization, decentralization of public administration, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European law, integration into the European legal space contribute to the introduction of good governance. The article draws the special attention to basic standards (principles) of good governance, compliance with which by local self-government authorities will enable to provide better administrative services: legality, accessibility, right to be heard, right to appeal, transparency and accountability. The amendments to the national legislation are proposed.
