Abstract

The article describes the essential characteristics and substantial autonomy within the unitary states. Attention is paid to the synergies between the principles of the unitarity of the state territory, recognition of the rights of autonomy and the fundamental political and legal institutions, and public-administrative life of the modern unitary states. It is proved that the autonomy - a mechanism that is typically used in a sovereign state, according to which the residents of a certain region given expanded powers, reflecting their particular geographical situation and protect their cultural and religious traditions and promote their development.
