Abstract

There is a history of establishment and formation of the Department of Maritime and Customs law of National University “Odessa Law Academy” in the article. The founder and the first head of the Department Sergey V. Kivalov noted and his further contribution to the
Department’s development also marked. The long lecturer activity of Department and modern areas of research on maritime, customs and information law also highlighted. The editing of scientific publications in the field of maritime law, including study guides and tutorials marked. The participation of the Department in working committees on drafting of local laws and regulations also underlined.
